Classrooms are how students are grouped in NurseTasks. This article will demonstrate how to create new classrooms and explain their main features.
Create a New Classroom
1. Navigate to Classrooms and Select "Create"
Locate the Left Sidebar on your screen, and select Classrooms.
On the classrooms page, look for the Create New Classroom button.
Click on this button to begin setting up your classroom.

2. Set Classroom Details
Fill in the following required and optional details:
Classroom Name (Required):
Provide a unique and descriptive name for the classroom.Clinical Hours (Required):
Specify the total clinical hours for the classroom.Clinical Location (Optional):
Enter the location where clinical activities will take place.Skills Template (Optional, but recommended):
Select a skills template to enable automated progress tracking. Without a template, skills tracking cannot be automated.

3. Add Students
At Least One Student Is Required: Add students to your classroom.
4. Add Instructors
At Least One Instructor Is Required: Assign one or more instructors to manage the classroom.
5. Save the Classroom
After filling in all the necessary details and adding students and instructors, click Save to finalize the creation of the classroom.
Classroom Page
When you select a classroom from the side menu, the main classroom page will show the overall analytics for the students including:
Average hours approved
Average skills approved
Average productivity score

The productivity graph widget will also show the class’ overall productivity trend over time. You can toggle between daily and yearly views.

Students
You will see a list of students assigned to this classroom. From the classroom screen, you can quickly see their approved hours, skills, and productivity scores.
If you click on a student it will open their student detail page: Student Details
Instructors
All instructors assigned to the classroom will be shown on the classroom page.
Classroom Settings

In the upper right corner of the classroom page, there is a gear icon that you can select to open the classroom settings. You can edit the following items:
Classroom name
Hours required
Skills template
Clinical site
Students
Instructors
FAQs
What if I don’t have a clinical location or skills template ready?
The clinical location is optional and can be left blank if not applicable.
The skills template is optional but required for automated progress tracking. You can add or update it later.
Can I edit a classroom after creating it?
Yes, you can edit classroom details, add students, or assign additional instructors at any time.
What happens if I don’t add students?
At least one student is required to create a classroom. Ensure you have student details ready before setting up the classroom.
